U.S. peanut industry to discuss exports, sustainability at 2023 Peanut Congress

June 12, 2023 (Amelia Island, Fla.)— U.S. peanut industry leaders are meeting in Amelia Island, Fla., this week for the industry’s 27th annual USA Peanut Congress. During the four-day conference, from June 12-15, leaders from all sectors of the peanut industry will be discussing export markets, sustainability, research and the upcoming peanut crop. Peanut Congress is a joint meeting between the American Peanut Council and the American Shellers Association.

Some of the highlights from this year’s business sessions include:

  • Sustainability and consumer activation – James Ohlandm, global category director for nuts, Mars Wrigley
  • Peanut research – Dr. Bob Kemerait, chairman elect, American Peanut Research & Education Society
  • 2023 crop update – Dr. Scott Monfort, extension peanut agronomist, University of Georgia Cooperative Extension
  • Nutrient dense life – Adam Albrecht, founder & CEO, The Weaponry
  • International pesticides, heavy metals & MRL policies – Alinne Oliveira, deputy director of global access, Bryant Christie
